Homes in Compton, Bell Gardens, El Monte & Pasadena are searched for evidence leading to distribution of child pornography

(BMLTV) On Friday November 1, 2013, SAFE Team members served search warrants at homes in Compton, Bell Gardens, El Monte and Pasadena where evidence linking the people at those locations to the possession and distribution of child pornography was seized.

The investigations remain on-going as to whom the suspects were distributing the child exploitation pictures and the identities of the children depicted in the pornography.

The SAFE Team conducts child exploitation investigations which are facilitated by the use of computers and the Internet. On-line child exploitation (child pornography) is child abuse, there is a real child being victimized in every image or video.

Special Victims Bureau, the Sheriff’s Department unit which investigates child abuse, has been investigating on-line exploitation since 1995 and the SAFE (Special Victims Bureau, Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement) Team was established in 2007 in response to the rising on-line exploitation threat.
