BMLTV) October 29, 2013 - The office of the Norfolk Commonwealth’s Attorney well understands the laws apply to all people equally.

Currently there are 80 employees of this Office and each person works hard to insure the efficient, effective and ethical prosecution of the defendants and comprehensive representation of crime victims and witnesses. That diligent work continues uninterrupted following the arrest.

Any inquiries about the offense and the arrest should be directed to the Virginia State Police. Questions regarding the case itself should be directed to his defense attorney.

The office will not be involved in the prosecution of the case.

When further comment by this Office is warranted, statements will be released.

According to the Virginia State Police, on Wednesday October 23, Norfolk Commonwealths Attorney, Greg Underwood was taken into custody and detained on (DUI) driving under the influence of alcohol charges.

Mr. Underwood was also charged with declining to take a breath or blood test, and carrying a concealed weapon in a public place while under the influence. Both of the charges are considered misdemeanors.

Mr. Underwood was later released on an unsecured bond and is scheduled to appear in court December 2013.
